Process of How to Pitch a Tent?

  1. Find an Appropriate Area for the Store.
  2. Extract All Contents from the Storage Bag.
  3. Place Your Tent (and Your Picnic Blanket) on the Floor.
  4. Place the Rods in the Store.
  5. Fix the Tent to the Ground with the Stakes.
  6. Place the Cover over the Store.

1. Find an Appropriate Area for the Store.

Find an Appropriate Area for the StoreMany of the camping areas in the easily accessible fields of Parks Canada have a tent platform that will predetermine the location of your tent. If there is not, you should choose an area that does not have residues of roots, rocks or branches, as well as other objects that prevent sleeping comfortably. Next, make sure the area is flat and not inclined. Remember that this area should also be far enough away from the place where you will light your fire, so as not to run the risk of your tent being hit by a fathom.

2. Remove All Contents from the Storage Bag.

Unpack the tent bag and make sure you have all the necessary items, including the tent itself, a picnic blanket (if included in your tent), the tent cover, the rods, the stakes and the winds. Place the items in a nearby place so that you have them handy when you use them.

3. Place Your Tent (Your Picnic Blanket) on the Floor.

If you have a picnic blanket, place it on the floor where you will build your tent. Then spread the store over the area. Be sure to point the door towards the site you want to use as input and output.

4. Place the Rods in the Store.

The first step is to assemble the rods. Carefully insert each section of the rod into the next section. Do the same with the rest of the rods. There are usually two different ways to attach the rods to the store: Some stores have sleeves and others have bras. Other stores have a combination of both.

Stores with Sleeves: Most of these stores have two sleeves that cross at the top. Insert the rod into one of the sleeves and slide it to the end. Then pass the next rod through the other sleeve. Now attach the end of the rods to one of the sides to the body of the tent. This process may vary depending on the type of store. Many stores simply have a buttonhole at the bottom, in which you will insert the end of the rod. The purpose of the rod will prevent it from coming out. Other stores have a metal ring and pin system attached to the bottom of the store, which you will enter at the bottom of the rod.

After having fixed the rods to the body of the store on one side, go to the other side. For larger stores, the next step is more natural if two people do it. Each person holds a rod by an area near the bottom. Do this slowly and stop if you feel a pressure, to make sure the rod does not catch. If the rod has caught and you continue to push it, you can damage the rod or the store. When the bottom of the rod reaches the bottom of the store, fix the rods the same way, you did on the other side.

Stores with Bras: Stores that have bras differ slightly from those with sleeves. First, fix the rods to the body of the store on one side. This process may vary depending on the type of store. Many stores simply have a buttonhole at the bottom, in which you will insert the end of the rod. Other stores have a metal ring and pin system attached to the bottom of the store, which you will enter at the bottom of the rod.

After having fixed the rods to the body of the store on one side, go to the other side. Fold the rods so that they arch in the centre and fix them to this side of the store in the same way you did on the other side. Starting from the bottom of each rod, go setting these to each fastener until you reach the top. It will cause the body of the store to ascend and securely attach it to the rods.

For stores with a combination of the two systems, start with the sleeves and then continue with the bras. For stores that have a more significant number of rods, you will usually start with the two rods that cross over the store, and then add the rest of the rods until the store are armed.

5. Fix the Tent to the Ground with the Stakes.

Fix the Tent to the GroundNow that your store is armed, you must fix it to the ground. Before you start, make all the location settings that the store needs. Most stores have nylon safety straps, with a loop or an eyelet at the end. Drive a stake through each strap and pull the straps in the opposite direction to the store to tighten the floor. Now stick the stake in the ground at a 45-degree angle.

Continue this process until all the straps are nailed, and the store is firm. The stakes should not be nailed in an upright position since they could leave the ground in case of a lot of wind. In windy conditions, the pressure it exerts on the store is transmitted to the stakes. If they are in an upright position, there will be no resistance that prevents the stakes from sliding and leaving the ground.

6. Place the Cover over the Store.

Try to focus this step because this really important for how to pitch a tent. Now you must fix the store cover. Usually, the body of the store is not waterproof. The tent cover will keep you dry in case of rain in some cases; the rods must be fixed to the shelter. In many designs, it is easier to adjust the rods first, although this is not necessarily the case in all models. Start by extending the cover above the store, as if it were a blanket.

Make sure the front of the cover matches the store entrance. Most of the covers are fixed to the rods, to the bottom of the store where the rods set. That will depend on the size of the cover and the store model. When you have fixed the cover, the store will be ready for you to bring your bedding and other personal effects!

You Have to Follow These Four Things While You Pitch Your Tent:

  1. You should set up your tent with some light. Try to get to the place where you go camping during the day. With the darkness, you will have to help yourself with flashlights, and the assembly task could be extended.
  2. Clean the area where you are going to put your tent. Think that you will sleep on it. Remove any branch or stone to make your stay more comfortable and choose a flat place.
  3. Check the weather conditions in the area where you will camp so that the wind, rain or intense sun does not surprise you during your getaway. You should know how to pitch a tent in the rain.

2. Extend the Store and Put the Floor First.

Take the store out of the bag where you store it and spread it out – unrolling it. Start with the bottom of the store by placing it on the canvas.

3. Place the Rods.

Unfold the two rods and join them diagonally from each of the ends. You will see that in each corner of the floor of your store there is a hitch. Enter the ends of the rods into them and form an X while lifting and curving. It will be the structure of your tent.

4. Raise the Tent.

You will see that in the middle of the floor of your tent there is a ring. Upload and hook it at the crossroads that make the rods. You will see that this part of the store has a series of hooks on the sides. Hook them all to the rods, as shown in the video. So the store will spread and take shape.

5. Place over the Roof.

Every tent is accompanied by an over the roof. Place it above the structure you have assembled. This protector will isolate you from heat, rain or wind. Attach it to the rods by attaching some ropes to these that you will find on the underside of the over the ceiling and connect the hooks that it has with the eyelets of the corners.

6. Put the Picks.

To fix the tent to the ground, finish the assembly bypassing the metal pickets through the eyelets of the corners and on the ropes that you will see on the sides. Cut them on the floor with the help of a small hammer.

If you keep the door zippers closed, you will make sure that the insects are left outside the store, where they should be! If you take off your shoes before entering the store, you will avoid dirt entering. So now this is the answer and final solution of what does pitching a tent mean.
